Recruitment Select are proud to be making a positive long-term social impact across the Central Region.

Recruitment Select, in it’s partnership with GAME Traffic & Contracting, is an innovative social enterprise reinvesting surplus into the regional communities through the provision of our specialised, targeted employment program, Geared4Careers.

We believe our innovative program has the ability to transform our regional communities, through increased participation in the local economies, as valued employees and consumers.

At Recruitment Select, we strongly believe in being connected on all levels with our local community. It is imperative to our success to have our ear to the ground and being in the loop, which is why we are active members with the Chamber of Commerce in each of our office locations. We are also connected with key local businesses and stakeholders, allowing us to team up and network with likeminded people.

Some of our local connections include:

2005: 1st July 2005 saw the commencement of Work Adventures Trading as AusTravel Jobs (ATJ) providing labour-hire and contracting services to the Horticultural industries of the Northeast of Victoria. The initiative was based on being able to supply motivated backpackers work, sourced from a Melbourne based Registered Training Organisation training new arrivals to Australia in horticulture.

2006: During this year, we truly began the process of creating a new future for the organisation by beginning to concentrate strongly on our new venture with ATJ. We embarked on a strategy of providing a range of more market orientated services – Seasonal Labour-Hire and Recruitment.
Harvest Labour Placements: 2,907 and Job Network Placements: 1,575.

2007: In 2007, we worked very hard to deliver services and achieved some impressive results. A number of staff from Worktrainers transferred to ATJ to perform Labour-Hire and Recruitment duties. This significantly increased the turnover and profitability of ATJ.

2008: ATJ Recruitment came from AusTravel Jobs and in turn was a spin off from our Harvest labour contract. We turned a loss in 2007 into a profit in 2008. ATJ Labour-Hire and Recruitment proposed a new business name; ‘Recruitment Select’, a more market orientated name.

2010:  ATJ Labour-Hire and Recruitment changed its name to Recruitment Select and we underwent a re-brand. Recruitment Select appointed a General Manager early in the Financial Year to oversee the growth and expansion of the Recruitment and Labour-Hire business.

2011: We contributed almost $4.5 million of turnover to The Workgroup. We contributed substantially to the results on improving the lives of disadvantaged jobseekers. Recruitment Select also Employed 416 people – 126,812 paid hours.

2012: Since our inception in 2005, we improved our performance, growing to become a significant contributor to deliver social goals as asocial enterprise in North East Victoria. We focused on providing a truly local service and gained a number of loyal customers using us for their temporary and permanent staff placements.

2016: In 2016, we placed 448 people into labour-hire positions totaling to 192,005 hours of employment. This was an increase of 67% on our 2015 results. We opened an office location in Albury.

2017: Recruitment Select now has office locations in Shepparton and Wangaratta and we provide employment and labour-hire services in nine locations across North East Victoria and Southern New South Wales. We celebrated 10 years of operation.

2018:  In 2018, we have employed 781 local people into a variety of casual labour positions across North East Victoria and the Border Region. Over the past 12 months we have worked to enhance our profile across the local business communities and in July, we reached finalist status in the prestigious Albury and Wodonga Chamber Business Awards in the Excellence in Commercial, Professional and Business category. In May, we were finalists at the Wangaratta Chamber of Business Awards and in October, we went on to win the Professional Service of the Year Award in the Shepparton Chamber of Commerce Awards. We also worked closely with our Marketing and Communications team to update our corporate branding. Our new look has introduced new colours, icons and our tag line “Tailor Made Employment Solutions”.

2020: In 2020, we employed 498 individuals in casual labour hire positions with our customers amounting to a total of 263,249 labour hire hours. We have again contributed substantially to the results of shaping the future working lives of many of our local youth.

2021: In 2021, we employed 549 individuals in casual labour hire positions with our customers amounting to a total of 205,037 labour hire hours.
