Store Manager

Recruitment Select is currently searching for a superstar Store Manager to run a store based in Benalla.

 

The Store Manager works on the shop floor and has direct oversight of the office functions. In addition to leading and managing the store and the team, the Store Manager is also responsible for running one of the four departments in the store.

 

The Store Manager is expected to keep up-to-date on retail and consumer trends and products and to ensure that merchandise purchases reflect customer demand for existing products as well as new products and service lines to enhance our competitiveness. Opportunity to attend retail trade shows in Melbourne may arise from time to time.

 

The duties of this position include:

  • Taking responsibility for the operation and functions of the entire store
  • Opening and closing the store, counting cash, reconcile EFTPOS, making deposits, opening/closing cash registers
  • Maintaining the budget and sales goals, overseeing pricing and stock control in coordination with the company directors
  • Coordinating the various departments of the store and work with team members to extend their scope of duties, according to their interests
  • Addressing customer inquiries and resolving any complaints
  • Maintaining clear and close communications with the staff directly and also through regular team meetings

 

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Extensive retail experience, preferably in a similar style of store
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling
  • Visual merchandising
  • Experience in purchasing including product research and evaluation; working with suppliers and vendors and maintaining and tracking purchase orders and controlling inventory levels
  • Ability to use a computer, knowledge of basic software and some online capabilities

 

This position is full time Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday mornings.
